About

“Never will I take for granted the astounding natural beauty of its rivers and brooks, crags and mountains, farms, cliffs, and the little church in the valley, but it’s the people who make it home.

 Steve Tassey

 from the book

Two Lives--One Memory Remembering for Two

Our Farm

Located in the heart of Shelburne, New Hampshire the valley is flanked by the Moriah Range to the south, and the Mahoosuc Range to the north-- Our farmland is exceptionally rich, productive, and perfect in every way, except for one serious flaw, the potential for flood from the Androscoggin River and from snow-melt off the Presidential Range (mounts Washington, Adams, Madison and Jefferson), each 5,600 to 6,200 feet high, fourteen miles west of us.  The land was purchased by the Tassey Family in the 1970's  first, raising a herd of beef cattle, and then, growing vegetables--to nourish the head, heart, hands, and health (the 4-Hs). Steve and Kay Tassey spent their retirement sharing beautiful vegetables with the North Country.

Land Acknowledgment

Moriah Valley Farm is located on N’dakinna, which is the traditional ancestral homeland of the Abenaki and Wabanaki Peoples past and present. We acknowledge and honor with gratitude the land and waterways and the alnobak (people) who have stewarded N’dakinna throughout the generations.
